Pets & People

Improving the lives of those we love.

Annually, we care for nearly 5,000 displaced animals, nurturing them with the necessary affection and attention to secure them lifelong families. Our commitment extends to the community through initiatives encompassing cruelty prevention, spaying/neutering, maintaining pet-owner bonds, reuniting lost pets, offering affordable veterinary services, and operating a pet food bank.

We feel lifesaving better describes the work we do - prioritizing intake of sick, injured, and neonatal animals to help the ones who need us most get the care they need!

We do have contracts with municipalities within Kanawha County to provide animal control services in collaboration with the municipality's Humane Officers, however, we are not run by a government organization - in fact, we rely on private donations for 85% of our annual budget.
