We're thrilled to launch Charleston, West Virginia's first regional, low-cost spay/neuter and wellness center! Fix Charleston is a program of Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association!
KCHA is thrilled to be able to offer affordable spay/neuter and wellness care to people and pets throughout Appalachia.
Dr. Paul Fleming DVM leads all medical efforts. Fleming is experienced in high quality/high volume spay and neuter procedure and has cared for pets in our region for years.
All revenue earned through Fix Charleston will sustain lifesaving programs of Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association.
The impact of Fix Charleston is immense! Nearly 9,000 animals in our region will be spayed or neutered annually. Services will not be restricted to county lines. KCHA will see a healthier shelter population due to more vaccinated community animals. Finally, fewer unwanted litters will be surrendered to KCHA and surrounding shelters.
But we still need your help! Donations can be made online at adoptcharleston.com/give or checks can be mailed to 1248 Greenbrier Street, Charleston, WV 25311.
How does this fit the mission of the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association?
More animals in Kanawha County that have not been spayed or neutered ultimately means more litters of puppies and kittens entering our shelter. Addressing the spay/neuter and wellness needs of underserved communities continues the KCHA mission of saving the lives of animals and keeping pets with their owners when they feel like they've run out of options.
What will services cost at Fix Charleston?
Spay/Neuter procedures and wellness care for cats and dogs. See our pricing list here.
Do I have to be a Kanawha County resident?
No! Fix Charleston is here to serve the needs of any pet owner in the region. Our spay and neuter clinic will expand our reach and partnerships with communities across southern West Virginia.
